The ask
Ovolo is an independent hospitality brand with a collection of boutique lifestyle hotels and serviced apartments across Hong Kong and Australia. We have worked with them since 2018, which makes it the longest hospitality relationship we have.
The model
Search, paid media and content run as one connected program rather than separate retainers, so spend, visibility and conversion are optimised against the same commercial goal.
Same volume, more value
Across the most recent full reporting period:
- Bookings up 0.4%. Essentially flat.
- Booking revenue up 10.6%. Materially ahead.
That gap is the whole story. The same number of guests, worth ten percent more. That is a yield result, not an acquisition one, and it is the clearest proof of optimisation in our hospitality portfolio.
- Google Ads consistently delivers 30 to 35% of all Ovolo digital revenue.
- 45.3% of bookings from Google campaigns came from customers new to Ovolo, so the channel is recruiting as well as converting.
- Return on ad spend runs between 15.8 and 19.9 on business-as-usual campaigns, and up to 28.6 on Performance Max.
Ranking inside the AI answer
Ovolohotels.com has begun ranking in Google's AI feature snippets, credited to matching intent, schema and content quality. Most brands cannot yet tell whether an AI answer mentions them, let alone recommends them. Ovolo is already in there, and we monitor it.
Being mentioned by an AI is not the same as being recommended. That distinction is becoming the whole game in travel search.
How we work
| Principle | What it means in practice |
|---|---|
| Shared outcomes | Measured on booking revenue and direct share, not impressions. |
| Reactive and proactive | Seven years of responding fast, and bringing what was never briefed. |
| Honest reporting | When campaigns were disrupted we said so, rather than smoothing the chart. |
